Frank R. Wang – President

Frank is a senior who’s passionate about helping students integrate professionalism with academics. Aside from his previous research experience, he has a strong interest in business. Frank is currently working as an Innovation Strategy Intern at Duquesne Light Company part-time while finishing up his last year at CMU. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis, DJing, and working out.


Katie Parsons – Vice President

Katie is a senior studying Chemical Engineering with an additional major in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Chemistry. She plans on attending medical school after graduation. She is a diver for CMU Varsity Swimming and Diving, an EMT for CMU EMS, Secretary for Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and is involved in cardiomyocyte regeneration research at UPMC Children’s. For fun, Katie enjoys exercising and finding new food spots!


Christian Deem – Treasurer

Christian is a junior ChemE at CMU. Outside of class, Christian works as a Lab Assistant in the Rothfus Lab and as a Resident Assistant (RA). Christian’s areas of interest are Consumer Packaged Goods, process engineering, and product development.


Lance Miller – Secretary

Lance is a junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Operations and Supply Chain Management. He is the president of CMU’s ChemE Cube team, an actor, singer, and dancer in Scotch’N’Soda’s mainstage productions, a writer for Tisbert Sketch Comedy, a Bass 2 in the D Flat Singers, and a member of Carnegie Mellon’s Solar Splash team, specializing in hull construction.


Sarah Korssa – Industrial Liaison

Sarah is a senior from Louisville, Kentucky pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Operations and Supply Chain Management. She is the President of SPIRIT, Carnegie Mellon’s Black Student Union and an active member of the Nation Society of Black Engineers. She’s had three engineering internships thus far with John Deere Engines, Campbell’s Soup Company’s Supply Chain, and DuPont CMPTs. Sarah enjoys working out, dancing, lacrosse and participating/helping her community.


Mitchell Griffith – Senior Class Rep

Mitchell is a senior from Houston, Texas studying Chemical Engineering with an additional major in Engineering and Public Policy. He is passionate about manufacturing as well as energy technologies. Previously he has interned at Panasonic Energy of North America and Alchemy Industrial. In his free time, he enjoys birding the many parks around Pittsburgh and is always on the lookout for his next life species.


Ruby Perez-Fry – Junior Class Rep

Ruby is a junior from El Paso, Texas studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in Hispanic Studies. She is interested in consumer packaged goods, food production, and pharmaceuticals. Ruby is a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, the Spanish and Latin Student Association, Society of Women Engineers, and Kappa Kappa Gamma. Outside of school, she enjoys exploring Pittsburgh, cooking, playing the cello, and hanging out with friends!

Ian Gimino – Sophomore Class Rep

Ian is a sophomore from Corvallis, Oregon pursuing a double major in Chemical and Biomedical engineering. He was part of the PEM fuel cell team for ChemE car and is involved in the Cohen-Karni lab. He enjoys playing the piano, baseball, and working out.
